ANG MGA AQUINO-COJUANGCO SA HACIENDA LUISITA

Hacienda Luisita Massacre ang pinaka-malaking batik at kapulaan sa pamilya nina Ninoy Aquino at Cory Cojuangco-Aquino at mga anak nila at maging sa buong Liberal Party.  Wala silang direktang partisipasyon dito pero wala silang magagawa sa mga bumabatikos sa kanila dahil nakadikit ang pangalan nila sa hacienda.  At pagdating sa usaping ito, panig ako sa mga manggagawa ng hacienda.  Nagkaroon naman talaga ng pang-aabuso sa mga magsasaka mula sa ilang taon ng pagpapakahirap sa pagbubungkal sa lupa hanggang nuong nangyari ang massacre.  Pero sino ang may pananagutan?

Madalas idikit ang pangalan nina Pang. Noynoy, Kris at pamilya nila sa Hacienda Luisita pero sino ba ang may-ari nito?  Ang mga patriarka ng Cojuangco ang nagpapatakbo ng hacienda at hindi ang mag-anak nina Cory.  Co-owner nga sila pero hindi sila ang major stakeholder ng Hacienda Luisita.  Nang maging pangulo si Cory ay ipinamana na niya ang kanyang share sa Hacienda Luisita, na ang 30% pa nga nito ay ibinigay niya sa mga magsasaka (nang maging presidente si Noynoy ay ipinasa rin niya ang kanyang share).  Oo nakikinabang sila sa kasaganahan nito.  Karapatan nila yun dahil kabahagi sila pero ang punong may-ari ng nagpapatakbo nito ay ang tiyuhin at tiyahin nina Noynoy, Kris et al... Walang malakas na boses si Noynoy sa Hacienda Luisita, ni hindi nga siya miembro ng board.  Ang nangyaring kaguluhan dito ay usaping civil at legal na ginawang politikal ng mga loyalista ni Marcos at mga panatiko ni Duterte.  Walang kinalalaman at kaugnayan ang Hacienda Luisita Massacre sa karerang-politikal ng mga Aquino-Cojuangco.

Nangyari ang massacre nung panahon ni dating Pang. Gloria Macapagal-Aroyo at nasa gabinete niya ang DDS na sina Pantaleon Alvarez at Bobi Tiglao pero dahil idinidikit ito sa politika ay ang pamilya ni Cory ang pangunahing tinutuligsa ng mga kalaban nila.  Kaso hindi nga sila ang nagpapatakbo ng hacienda.  Ang Hacienda Luisita ay nagkaroon ng maling-pamamahala ng mga kamag-anak ni Cory.  Kung humantong sa massacre ang pangyayari, nasa sa namamahala ang pananagutan.  Nag-inbestiga ang Commission on Human Rights nung panahon na yun at nalaman nila na may mga pang-aabuso na naganap.  2012 ay naibigay na sa mga magsasaka ang mga lupa base sa decision ng Korte Suprema, sa tulong yan ng CHR.

Sa mga pagbatikos, laging magkasunod na tinutuligsa ang mga nangyaring Mendiola Massacre at Hacienda Luisita Massacre dahil parehong mga magsasaka ang biktima dito.  Presidente na nuon si Cory nang maganap ang Mendiola Massacre nung January 1987.  Dahil  wala pang CHR nung panahon na yun ay binuo niya ang isang komisyon para mag-imbestiga.  Nuong February 1987 ay may mga kaso ng isinampa sa mga naging abusadong mga pulis.  Nangyari ang Hacienda Luisita Massacre nuong November 2004.  Nagimbestiga ang CHR at nakasuhan na ang mga pang-aabuso na naganap.

Kung mayroong pagkakamali o pagkukulang ang pamilya Aquino-Cojuangco, iyun ay ang usapin sa Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) ng Department of Agrarian Reform dahil hindi yun natugunan ng dalawang naging president mula sa pamilya nila.  Sa ngayon, kahit papaano ay natutugunan na ang mga dapat gawin sa usapin ng CARP.  Nuong July 22, 2016 ay naipamahagi na sa mga magsasaka ang 4,099 hektarya pero ang bahagi sa naibentang lupain ay hindi pa naibibigay sa mga magsasaka.  Nuong July 4, 2018, ang Hacienda Luisita ay ganap ng nasunod ang pamamahagi ng benta ng bahagi sa mga magsasaka.  Duon nagkulang ang mga Aquino-Cojuangco.  Pero ang usaping kriminal, sibil, at legal ng massacre ay hindi sila dapat idinadawit ng mga kalaban sa politika.  Hindi dapat isisi kina Cory, Noynoy, Kris at pamilya nila ang nangyaring kamalian sa Hacienda Luisita dahil hindi sila ang direktang may kontrol dito.

INFLATION IN PHILIPPINES

This article is intended for school assignment.  What are the causes of inflation and how to battle inflation?  Written below are the basic answers to inflation:

Inflation is the general increase in the price of goods, commodities and services that makes the purchasing power of the currency is falling.  As of today, the inflation in the Philippines is the highest among ASEAN neighboring countries.  Some of the basic reasons of inflation are the world oil process, rice shortage, weak peso, calamities and people’s behavior.

Definitely the oil price in the world market greatly affects our economy.  Philippines is dependent in importing oil.  We import oil from Middle East countries.  Our industries, transportation, and trading will not function without it.  While this can be controlled, natural calamities like typhoon, landslides, earthquakes and floods are difficult to handle, the same with people’s behavior.

In this day we do not have source of oil.  Every family’s responsibility is to help our country to get rid of from extreme dependency in importing oil.  As of now we cannot avoid it, but we can control it.  Let us really do our share to save electricity and energy.  Our population now is more than 100 million.  99% of this is composed of household families.  The remaining are the orphanage, hospitals, military camps and diplomatic quarters.  From this alone, it is clear that the household families are the number one dependent of electricity.  If every family will help to reduce their electricity consumes, that will be a very big impact on our need as a nation.

To combat inflation, we should invest in products and services to generate money.  Yes the remittance of the Overseas Filipino Workers plays big role in managing our money but this is the right time to look for a long-term solution like uplifting the resources we have.  We are agricultural country.  We have so many resources to dwell.  We should utilize the idle agricultural land to become productive by enriching and stimulating the farming industry.  Help our farmers by giving them the support they need like giving them lesser or smaller taxes.  Let us encourage the local government in the rural areas to invest in farming.  We should grow our own foods.  If our rural areas can produce more crops, we can be not only rice or onion sufficient but also export them.   And maybe we need to have “Agricultural Cooperatives” instead of having the middle men in marketing the products to avoid hoarding and imposing high prices.   Invest in rural area by generating agricultural and livestock business.

Let us control and study the distribution of land into industrial and residential land.  If our government can introduce the new design of government’s housing projects to limit the land size like apartment type upward designs instead of widening design.    Basically, our land becomes smaller due to rapid growth of population.  This is the main reason why even the mountain and the riverside are being occupied by informal settlers.  If these lands will become community, we will run out of place for planting our crops.

Another thing that we should improve is our mentality towards inflation.  Most of us are using inflation to gain or to become selfish.   When we know there is expected rise of inflation in the coming days, people are in panic buying mode while businessmen are either changing their price list to secure their profits or hoarding goods for higher profit later.  When media announced that oil companies will hike gasoline and diesel prices tomorrow, the consumers will race to the gasoline station to full tank their motors.

CASSAVA CAKE (no-bake)

2 cups grate cassava

1 cup coconut milk

1 can condense milk

2 raw eggs

½ cup macapuno

Grated cheese

1. In a bowl, mix coconut milk, condensed milk, macapuno and eggs.

2. Pour the mixture in grate cassava.

3. Put the cassava mixture in the molding pan at half.

4. Steam for 45 minutes.           

5. Remove and sprinkle with grated cheese.

6. Keep refrigerated.

7. And lastly, just eat right.
