KILLING WON’T KILL KILLINGS

I really don’t see death penalty can stop or reduce the heinous crimes.  It’s ambitious but to make good the standard, level and quality of our life will most likely cease the crimes. But for now, we need a reform in our justice system to reduce crimes – that is the strict implementation of the laws and credible law enforcers that will lessen it.  Traffic violation, robbery or murder – impose the law accordingly.  Speed up the process in all honesty and utmost fairness – no bribe and no politics.  And whatever the verdict let the sentenced serve the deserved punishment – no special treatment and no parole.  It is not our current laws today why we have high crime rate in the country.  Our laws are good, they are not just used accordingly.  Follow the principle of “the law is the law.

It is not the death penalty that will stop crimes neither reduces it whether it is petty or heinous because as people, no matter what the punishment is, he will do what he thinks should be when at his highest point of anger or obsession.  When he is in there, he will not pause for a while and ask himself “What is the punishment of this by the way?”  Death penalty doesn’t serve warning to those who will commit heinous crime because of this nature.  Might as well, what’s the need of ending the life of the person and why we ourselves need to become criminal?  For you to say a person must be killed and to execute actual killing during death penalty, you are no different from the killers so what excepts, separates and differs you from killing a helpless persons?  Killing will not kill killings but will make another killers.

In the countries where death penalty is being imposed and the crime rate is low, there are still heinous crimes which just show that death penalty is not instrumental to stop them.  Now, saying their low crime rate is another thing but all these are due to their good justice system.  Remove death penalty in the picture, they will still have the same low crime rate – it is because it all boils down to their justice system.  Back in our old times when Filipinos were afraid of the oppressive Spanish colonization implementing garrote, did it stop the grave crime?  Even the display of gruesome firing squad did not stop and scare the perpetrators of gangs during the Marcos times.  Up to Erap’s regime, there were heinous crimes committed shortly right after the first lethal injection was executed.   It just testifies and proves that capital punishment will not stop the person who is out of sound mind to logically weight things during the act of crime.

The upbringing and environment play big effect in a person.  If you were born, raised and exposed in a place surrounded with the elders are ignoring the simple laws, violence, there are those above the laws or they seem to be the law, then you are most likely to break the laws too.  To debrief you is not to threaten to kill you but to remove the rotten culture of corrupted system.  We don’t need to sow fear to achieve peace and discipline.  If we are living in a world of justice, humility and kindness, we will develop a land with respect in mankind and anything.

There was point in time I supported death penalty.  That was when I haven’t realized the sanctity of God’s gift of life.  Yes, a sinner took away someone’s life but let us not become another sinner in taking another someone’s life.

MGA SENYALES NG KATAPUSAN

Hindi ako pala-panood ng mga ebanghelikong bidyo tungkol sa mga palatandaan ng katapusan ng mundo, pero nitong nagkaroon ng pandemiya ay dinala ako nito sa pagmumuni-muni at natagpuan ko ang sarili ko na nanonood ng mga ganuong bidyo.  Isa sa mga napanood ko ay bumalik sa aking ala-ala at bigla kong naisip na, oo nga nangyyari na ang mga sinasabing senyales lalo na sa Pilipinas.

Bukod sa mga kalamidad, digmaan, mga sakit, at tag-gutom na nangyayari sa ibat-ibang bansa maging sa Pilipinas man, may mga sensalyes na nangyayari mismo sa Pilipinas, tulad ng mga naglalabasang bulaang propeta at tinutuligsa ang kristiyanismo.  May mga pinuno ng sekta ng relihiyon ngayon ang umaangking siya ang Diyos, sugo ng Diyos, o sinasabing ang sekta nila ang totoong relihiyon na tanging malililigtas.  Lumalakas sila dahil hindi naging kasanayan ng Kristiyanismo ang makipagtalo kaya madalas nilang gamitin ang Kristiyanismo sa pagpuna sa mga katuruan nito kung kaya dumadami ang nakikiayon sa kanila at tinutuligsa na rin ang Kristiyanismo.  Ito na ba ng sinasabing mga bulaang Propeta?  Ito ba yung sinasabing paparito at magsasabing siya ang Mesias?

Senyales daw na marami ang panghihinaan ng loob at tatalikod sa pananampalataya.   Nangyayari na sa mga Pilipino ang humina ang pananampalataya at kaya na nilang kutyain, paratangan at kalabanin ang relihiyong pinanggalingan nila.  Kapag malapit na raw ang katapusan, kapopootan daw ang mga Kristiyano.  Hindi ba’t nangyayari na ito sa Pilipinas?  Marami ang mga lantarang nililibak ang mga pinuno ng simbahan tulad ng sakim daw at mukhang pera ang mga Pari.  Sinasabing yw na nilang magsimba dahil; sa mga kurakot na pari pero ang totoo ay dahilan na lang hila iyon dahil kinatatamaran na lang nila ang magsimba - hindi ba't nanghina na ang kanilang pananampalataya?  Hindi lang minsan kundi maraming beses narinig ng mga Pilipino ang sinabing saktan ang mga Obispo, nakawan, barilin sila, at murahin sila.  Hindi ba’t nagpalakpakan ang maraming tao nang marinig iyon?  Hindi ba’t mismong Snto Papa ay minura na?  Napakasama na ng mundo hindi ba?

Ililigaw daw ang mga tao tuloy sa pagdududa sa mga kautusan tulad ng ang “Huwag kang papatay” ay puwede naman daw pumatay.  Binabago nila ang kahulugan ng mga katuruan.  Ang hindi katapatan, pagsisinungalin at kabastusan ay tila tanggap na ng mgaraming Pinoy.  Hindi ba’t ang mga ito ay tinatangkilik ng mga Pilipino?  Ang pagsisinungalin kapag nauungkat ay ginagawang biro na inaayunan ng mga nakikinig sa pamamag-itan ng palakpakan.  Ang kontrobersiyang nakawan na umaabot ng bilyon-bilyon ay hindi ba’t ilang beses na nating narinig nitong mga nagdaang taon?

Magsusulputan ang mga anti-Kristo – iyung ayaw kumilala sa Ama at Anak.  Ang senyales na ito ay nangyari na sa Pilipinas.  Tinawag na kalokohan daw ang doktrina ng holy trinity, iyung sabihing nakakawala ng bilib na ipinako sa krus ang Diyos sabay mura dito.  Sino itong estupidong Diyos na ito?  May mga kristiyano na napaisip na “oo nga ano?” at pilit ipinaliwanag kung bakit tama ang narinig nila.  Pilit nilang bibigyang katuwiran na tama ang sinabi ng tao na iyon.  Hindi ba’t nangyayari na nga ito ngayon?

Ayokong maki-isa sa mga senyales ng katapusan.  Ayokong maging isa sa mga katibayan ng mga senyales na ito.  Ayokong maging bahagi at halimbawa ng kasamaan.  Ang pandemniya ay naghatid sa akin ng pagmumuni upang isipin ko kung ano ang mga nagawa ko at ano ang mga dapat kong gawin.  Gusto kong maging solusyon kaysa maging problema.  Gusto kong makatulong, hindi kinakailangang pera kundi sa ibang bagay o paraan.  Sa pamamag-itan ng pagpapakabait, naniniwala akong kahit papaano ay maiibsan natin ang pangamba ng pagtatapos ng panahon.  Sa mga pinagdaraanan ng Pilipinas, masuwerte ako dahil hindi ako nagiging biktima kaya pinipilit kong maging bahagi ng pakikiramay, pakikibaka at pagbangon.  Hindi kinakailangan ang malaking kayamanan o tulong dahil ang maliit mong bahagi, kapag isinama sa marami ay malaking kapakinabangan sa marami.

MALING PANANAHIMIK

Ang malaking pagkakamali ni Noynoy Aquino (PNoy), ng mga Aquino at ng LP ay ang hindi nila pagsasalita, pagpapaliwanag at pagpapabulaan sa mga issue na ibinabato sa kanila at sa mga revisionism laban sa kanila ng mga Marcos loyalists at solid DDS.  Nagsimula ang pagkalat ng mga bidyo nuong 2010, naging grabe nuong bago mag-2016.  Maling-mali ang dahilan ng mga Aquino at mga dilawan na kung hindi naman totoo ay bakit papatulan?  Walang kumokontra sa kanila kaya ang nangyari, inisip ng mga tao na totoo nga ang mga ibinabato sa kanila, at dahil sa wala silang sagot ay paulit-ulit na ipinakakalat ang mga isyu, fabricated issue, articles, pictures at video.

Narito ang mga paulit-ulit na ibinabatong issue na hindi sinagot ng mga Aquino pero nasa record na walang kinalalaman o kasalanan si PNoy/mga Aquino/LP:

1.  Prinotekthan ang Hacienda Luisita.  Sinunod ni PNoy ang desisyon ng SC na ipamahagi ang hacienda ayon sa batas – naka-record ito.  Kinalaban ni PNoy ang sarili niyang angkan sa pamamahagi ng hacienda.  Kaya hindi totoo ang reviosionism na prinotektahan ni PNoy ang hacienda dahil pagmamay-ari ito ng kaniyang angkan.

2.  Pinulikita ang Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP).  Hindi totoo na kinausap ni Marcos si Cory na ituloy ang BNPP – walang account, public record, at media ageny na ginawa nga ito ni Marcos.  NAPAKATALINO ni Marcos – hindi ito kikilos ng walang panghahawakang valid evidence o official statement man lang.  Ang totoo, nag-inbita pa si Cory ng mga expert sa US para suriin ang BNPP pero ayon sa pag-aaral ay delikado ito.  At nasa record na maanomalya ito katunayan ay nadesisyonan na ng Sandigang Bayan si Hermino Decini na ibalik ang $15M dahil nga maanomalya ito nang ipinasok sa kontratista ni Marcos.

3.  NPA / komunista daw mga Aquino kaya pinalaya ni Cory si Joma.  Isa pa - pinalaya daw dahil ayaw ni Cory na itulad siya kay Marcos na gustong nakakulong si Joma.  Pinalaya ni Cory si Joma dahil gusto niyang pangunahan na panahon na para magkaisa ang Gobyerno at makakaliwa, at alam ni Cory na kahit mamatay si Joma ay hindi mamamatay ang CPP dahil hindi si Joma ang nagpapatuloy dito kundi yung idealismo.  Kaya ang ginawa ni Cory ay ipinakita niyang iba na ng gobyerno kaya yung mga nasa bundok ay pwede g magbalik.  Kaya sa panahon ni Cory ay bumaba ang bilang ng NPA.

4.  Nasaan ang Yolanda Funds.  Ninakaw daw ng mga dilawan.  Na-audit at naibigay na kay Romualdez (kamag-anak ni BBM).   Ayon naman sa record ng NEDA ang 12.B Yolanda rehab fund ay still untouched.  P 5B unused Yolanda funds ay gagamintin sa Marawi rehab – ito ang kumpirmasyon ng gobyernong DU30 na nasa kanya na ang Yolanda funds.

5.  Ibinenta daw ni Cory ng mga pag-aari ng gobyerno tulad ng Petron, National Steel Corp., PAL at ibinigay ang Meralco at ABS-CBN.  Hanggang 1992 lang si Cory sa pagka-Pangulo, 1994 nang makuha ng Saudi Aramco ang 40% ownership ng Petron, 20% ang ibinenta sa publiko.  Ang Nationl Steel Corp ay government own from 1972 – 2004 ibig sabihin ay hindi ito ibinenta ni Cory or ni PNoy.  Ang PAL ay na re-privatized ulit nuong 1993.  Samantala, ang Meralco na kinamkam ni Mrcos ay ibinalik lang ni Cory sa totoong may-ari – lahat ng ito ay may record.

6.  Ibinenta daw ni Ninoy ang Sabah.  Si Marcos ang nagsuko ng pag-claim sa Sabah – naka-record ito dahil nasa diyaryo ito.  Binuo ni Marcos ang Operation Merdeka para bawiin ang Sabah sa pamamag-itan ng pangugulo sa Malaysia.  Nabisto ito ng Malaysiya at nagkaroon ng Jabidha Massacre (mga kabataang Tausug), may nakaligtas at humingi ng tulong kay Ninoy.  Ibinunyag ito ni Ninoy, para hindi magalit ang Malaysia ay isinuko ni Marcos ang Sabah claim .  Senador lang si Ninoy, paano niya maibebenta?

7.  Pinabayaan ang West Phil Sea.  2004 pinayagan ni Arroyo ang Tsina na mag-explore sa WPS.  2005 nadiskubre ang mga istraktura ng Tsina sa Mischief Reef.  Nabunyag din ang maanolmalyang ZTE deal. 2009 nag-claim ng teritoryo ang Tsina sa UN.  Nang naging pangulo si Noynoy, 2011 nagprotesta ang Pinas, 2013 kinasuhan ng Pilipinas ng Tsina sa The Haugue.   Sino nga ulit ang nagpabaya sa WPS?  Naka-record lahat ito.

8.  Si Cory daw ang nagsimula ng Contrtualization or Endo.  Naisabatas ang contractualization nuong 1974 si Marcos ang Presidente.  1986 lang nang maging Pangulo si Cory.

9.  Nakalibing daw sa Libingan ng Mga Bayani ang aso ni Cory.  Hindi ito totoo. Dahil ang aso ay nakalibing sa Malacanan park.  Ang totoo, ang aso ay bahagi ng PSG at hindi aso ni Cory.

10. Tulay na Walang Ilog.  Yung ganitong project na kitang-kita ng mga tao, hindi naman napakatanga ng isang opisyal para gawin ang kalokohang ganito.  Ciento por ciento ay may engineering logic ito.  Ayon sa DPWH Southern Leyte, ito lang ang paraan upang mapigilan ang paglubog ng kalsada dahil sa creek na nasa ilalalim nito na nagpapalambot ng lupa.  Tatlong beses ng ginawan ito ng kalsada pero nasisira.  Ang project na ito ay hindi talaga tulay kundi kalsada pero dinesenyuhan nila ng pang-tulay dahil sa ganitong design ay maibabaon nila nang mas malalim ang pundasyon kesa sa pundasyon ng isang kalsada.  At ang raillings ay idinagdag upang proteksiyon sa mga dumadaan.

11. Umiinom daw sa pinggan si Roxas.  Hindi ito totoo.  Kung totoo man, walang mali kung ikaw ay nasa remote area, kahit nga dahon ay pwede mong gamitin.  Ang mali kung marumi yung pinggan.

12. May karelasyon si Leni.  Kung totoo, bakit hindi sa korte dalin ang mga isyu para ma-disbar si Leni?  Bakit sa social media paulit-ulit na ikinakalat?  Kasi pinagkakakitaan. Ang mga ikinakalat na picture ay mga kuha sa political at public events.  Kung may relasyon sana may makuha sila ng picture sa private na okasyon kasi sa tagal na nilang inuulit ito ay may lumabas na sanang private picture.

Sa sentido-comon na lang: kung may ninakaw si Cory at PNoy, bakit hanggang ngayon ay walang naging kaso at maikaso sa kanila?  Kahit ang mga maiinit na isyu tulad ng tanim-bala, SAF-44, Dengvaxia, PDAF scam, etc. ay walang maipasang kaso laban sa mga Aquino.  Kung may mga maanomalyang ibinentang pag-aari ng gobyerno, bakit walang ikinaso kay Cory?  Kawawang mga loyalista – mismong iniidolo nilang  mga Marcos ay niloloko sila at ginagawang mga tanga.

Sa ganitong paulit-ulit na paninira, kailangan umusap at itama kapag may maling sinasabi sa iyo.  Malaki ang kakulangan ni PNoy sa pagpapaalam sa mga Pinoy kung ano ang mga magaganda niyang ginawa.   Kung sana, iyung mga nagawa niya ay isinapubliko niya, di sana’y walang maaangkin ang mga taong mahilig mag-angkin ng kredito upang maging magaling.  Kung sana iyung mga kumakalat na mapanira at pangit na bidyo ay ipinaliwanag niya at sinabi ang totoo, titigil ang paulit-ulit na pagpapakalat ulit dahil nasagot na niya.

OF BEING IN THE 3rd SEX

In light of Pope Francis Benedict’s comments in support of same-sex civil union, I do not go against it because for me civil union is for civil and social rights.  It is civil union, not the sacrament and covenant of marriage.  And it doesn't contradict my objection in same sex marriage because on my understanding, one of the purposes of marriage in spiritual point of view is the doctrine of procreation and multiplication.  Civil union is for civil rights of all gender.  For me, marriage is for man and woman.  But let us not set side the battle cry of the gays and lesbians.  Most of the time, the common impression of the general public about their causes is about their feelings.  People are thinking it is too much to ask for what they are fighting for.  But it is not all about the emotions or label of relationships but more than these is their civil rights that are enclosed in what we already heard SOGIE (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression).

 

Let’s admit it, there are so many people in 3^rd sex group who have deprived of their rights, opportunity, happiness and success.  Many have been preempted, or lost their opportunity, job promotion and even education because the gauge doesn’t concur with SOGIE of the person.  There are those who were denied the access to public program, health and medical services, those who were refused to provide goods and services, and all these are just because of their gender preference.  They have been marching equality and acceptance.  And it still happens in real life even at these days, many of them have been discriminated, harassed and subjected to physical and verbal attack.  Actually, there are groups that organize events that incite bigotry against the 3^rd sex.  These are the real and painful dilemma that those in the 3^rd sex go through and fighting for, along with right to conjugal properties and same sex marriage which I don’t support despite of our modern days.

 

Being in the third sex, it is off for same-sex marriage not for the capability to multiply but because of our origin since Genesis.  It’s their sad reality.  There is nothing wrong with being gay/lesbian because they too are creations of God.  It is not sin to become.  What makes it wrong and sin is when we go against the Words of God.  Give the civil rights because it is for every citizen.  Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and give to God what belongs to God because this is the word of God.  Sacredness of marriage is to man and woman.  Gays and lesbians have causes that are rights but there are also not right, and same-sex marriage is one.  This is religion, go to civil where it is acceptable.  Procreation needs biological compatibility to fortify their flock.  Civil union needs two persons preference to become legal.  Either of the two, the essence of marriage is to ensure the preservation of the human species to continue the human race.  Adopting may fill up the needs but doesn’t make complete the very idea of a family that has the images of father and mother.

 

Being gay and lesbian has been an old unpopular perception and stigma in our society and faith.  Millions of men and women way back in the old-old times have already suffered because of this injustice.  First of all, being gay (and lesbian) is not inherited and it is not by choice.  Did the straight men and women need to choose their sexual identities?  No, because their sexual identities are inborn just like with gays/lesbians, therefore it is by birth.  If each child goes through the same path that confuses their preferences and they chose to be a boy or girl, then being of 3^rd sex is by choice.   But it’s no, not all children have been in that confusing stage, therefore being in the third gender is inborn or natural trait.  It is not a disease that needs to heal from, that to heal it is to get married.  Getting married is by choice and doesn’t cure because at the end, the attraction to same sex is still there but has just learned to suppress it.  But because of stigma, some have denied it and some have forced themselves to ignore their emotion, or live alone.

ANG DOLOMITE BEACH, MANILA BAY

Sa isang isyu, mayroong pabor at kontra.  Paano malalaman kung sino ang tama at mali?  Kung mas malalim, may saysay at may pagpapatunay sa iyong argumento, malamang kaysa hindi ay ikaw ang tama.  Huwag ng idagdag kung ang puntos mo ay mas marami.  Ganito ang nangyari sa paglalagay ng dolomite sand, o pekeng puting buhangin sa Manila Bay.

Bago ang lahat, gusto kong gumanda ang Manila bay, sino ba ang may ayaw?  Pero duon tayo lagi sa tama.  Maraming mali sa ginawa. Ang argumento ng kabila“Nung madumi, ang reklamo ay bakit hindi linisin, ngayong pinapaganda ay bakit nagrereklamo pa rin?”  Una, sablay ang argumento nila.  Ang inirereklamo ay madumi, hindi pangit.  Kaya dapat linisin hindi i-peke na pagandahin. Kasi kung malinis naman ang look ay gaganda na iyon.

Pangalawa, tama bang gawin ito ngayon?  Mali na gawin ito sa panahon ngayon dahil mas kailangang unang tugunan ang pangangailangan ng pandemniya.  Kawalan ng damdamin (insensitive) ito sa panahon na marami ang namamatay, nawawalan ng trabaho, nagugutom, at nahihirapang mga frontliners dahil sa pandemya na hindi matugunan nang maayos dahil wala na daw pera. 

Pangatlo, mali na lagyan ng pekeng puting buhangin ang baybayin ng Manila bay dahil sa kasaysayan ng Manila bay ay maraming beses ng umaapaw ang tubig nito at inaanod kung saan-saan ang anomang nasa tubig.  Magsasayang lang tayo ng pera, panahon at lakas.  Aanurin lang ng baha ang perang ginastos para dito.  Kung sana ay nire-allign na lang ang P28M sa distance learning ng mga bata, dahil wala daw pondo para dito.

Pang-apat, mali na naman dahil ayon sa DOH ay delikado sa kalusugan ang dolomite sand. May mga negatibong epekto sa kalusugan ang paglanghap sa dinurog na dolomite, na kapag na-inhale ng mga tao ay may mga adverse reactions.  Ang dolomite dust, pag napunta sa mata, nagkakaroon ng kaunting irritation. Pag na-ingest, magkakaroon ng kaunting pananakit ng tiyan at pagtatae,".  Nauna nang sinabi ng grupong Infrawatch Philippines na nagdudulot ang dolomite dust ng iritasyon sa mata, mga sakit sa baga at maging cancer.

Pang-lima, mali na naman ito kasi sabi ng Oceana Philippines, madaming nilabag na batas ang proyekto dahil sa kawalan ng environmental impact assessment, at hindi rin kinonsulta ang publiko tungkol dito.

Pang-anim, kung tungkol sa sinasabi nilang matagal na itong approved bago pa magkaroon ng COVID, eh hindi ba binigyan ng executive emergency power si du30 na ire-allign ang budget ng kanyang mga ahensiya at ang mga non-essentials ay maaari niyang gamitin sa pag-control sa covid?  Kahit pa matagal na itong approved ay hindi nila ito pwedeng ituloy dahil nga hindi into essentials sa panahon ng pandemniya.

Pang-pito, mali pa rin ito dahil ang kailangan para mapaganda ang Manila bay ay ang paglilinis ng mga nakapaligid dito.  Nuon pa natin alam ito.  Siguro 1986 pa o baka mas nauna pa.  Mas lalo ngayon na ang daming squatters na naka-squat malapit sa Manila bay na siyang punot-dulo ng mga basurang inaanod sa baybay ng Manila bay.

Ang tama lang sa argumento ng kabila ay ang intensiyong pagandahin ang Manila Bay, pero ang nag-iisang punto na ito ay dinaig ng mga nabanggit sa itaas.

WORSHIPING GOD-2

Speaking as Christian, I have nothing against beatification, I am not against sainthood.  First, we Christians acknowledge the extraordinary kindness of the life of these Saints while on earth and we want to let their stories remind us to follow their good deeds.  And they inspire the flock to live the same way how these Saints have lived their life, which is why it is allowed to be with us. Also, I am not against in images of Saints and even the Lord Jesus because they are just merely symbolism. When we see the image of man with a dog, we know it is St. Rocco and we must be good in dogs.  When we see an image of a man with buffalo, we know it is St. Isidore and we must be good farmer.  Besides, being Patron doesn’t mean being God that needs to be worshiped, it just means an identification of a good people that need to be recognized where they were known for.  When you put pictures of your spouse in your wallet doesn’t mean you are worshiping your wife or husband. We can talk to these pictures but it doesn't mean we are worshiping them. When you bring flowers and candles to the grave of your deceased loved ones doesn’t mean you are worshiping them. These are just the same with these images, we are just remembering them but not worshiping.  We are just reminding of their symbolism to follow their message like when you see the sign of no entry, you will not enter.  That is symbolism all about.  This is not blasphemy because you are not worshiping them, thus you are not disrespecting God.

If people were to argue we worship these images, then the answer is actually not. If you are a Christian insisting having images is worshiping, then it only means either your faith as Christian is weak or it is because you worshiped these images before, and your understanding is wrong. As true Christian, we only acknowledge these images and Saints, no more-no less. Having these images is not worshiping God even sainthood is not worshiping neither.  You should not exalt them and adore them because these things should give only to our God.  Remember, worship and prayer are different. Prayer is communicating while worshiping is act of praising and devotion.  Worshiping is where you are giving your life to God only.  Worshiping is where you are offering your highest respect, utmost devotion, purest love and the best of you to God only. You are servicing God, doing what makes Him happy by following His words.  That is worshiping which a true Christian doesn’t do to Saints.  We only worship the God.  We communicate with God, and we can communicate with Saints also but worship should go to God only.  Note that we “can” communicate with these images and it is not we “should” communicate, “can” and “should” are different.  There is freewill, there is no obligatory.  Saying litany is not worshiping but it is communicating to refresh, reminisce, and relive the blessedness of the Saints.  Reciting the rosary is not worshiping but emphasizing the kindness of Mama Mary.  We can communicate with Saints like we communicate with God but never worship them.

God is everywhere.  He is in our heart, beside us, in the mountain, in the prayer rooms, and in the spirit of the images.  The moment we say our prayers to these images, it doesn’t mean these images are the God, but this is where God is.  And again, praying or communicating is different from worshiping.  I have nothing against with these Christian practices but personally, when I pray I do not kneel in front of any object and image. I close my eyes and say my prayers. In this way I can be sure that my heart is praying directly to God only.  I admire the life of these Saints but I do not elate or idolize them as I highly elate God.

BAG RAID (What's Inside My Bag)

This is my bag.  It is black Courier bag.  Sometimes they call it Messenger bag.  I want to show what's inside my bag, what's it about.

It is quite old, about 5 years old.  It is very simple.  It is not branded. I am not after the brand name.  As long as I like it, I’ll go for it.  It is medium sized, the material is made of cordura fabric.  It has flap on the front with hook and loop fasteners.  It has long nylon fiber strap and it works cross the body.

First part is for my access.  I put here my passes like mobile phones, my company ID, office keys, and my house keys.  So next, let’s go to the other side.  I have box for my essentials.  I put here the things that I need to bring on the daily basis like facemasks, passport, vanity kit.  I have scissor for my loose hair, cutters, dental floss, and lip balm.  I have alcohol, eye glasses (shade and reading glass), pen and notepad.

That’s all.

PESTO PASTA

This is a special version of my Pesto pasta to make a friend pleased.  Aside with the simple ingredients of it, I wanted to set apart from the plain pesto pasta.  We know the distinct and tang taste of pesto paste because of the crushed basil leaves.  Well, the feta cheese actually blended well with the pesto taste and with aragula leaves.  And the cherry tomatoes really go well to balance that tang taste of pesto.

I added bite size chicken breast and topped with diced onions and parmesan cheese.

The preparation is so easy.  Sauté the garlic and onion, then add the chicken breast with few water to cook.  Add the pesto paste and set aside. Cook the pasta based on the packaging instruction.  In a bowl, toss the cooked pasta and the pesto paste.  Add the aragula leaves and halves cherry tomatoes, mix well and add the feta cheese.  Sprinkle with diced onion and parmesan cheese on top.

And lastly, just eat right.

If you want to do it yourself Pesto paste, get fresh basil leaves, put olive oil and some salt and pepper then crush them (manual or using blender).  

PAGIGING KURIPOT, MARAMOT AT MATIPID

Minsan, nagiging palaisipan sa akin kahit papaano kung ako ba ay may karamutan o pagiging praktikal lang ba ang umiiral sa akin.  Una sa mga materyal na bagay na akin.  Ayaw na ayaw ko na natatapon ang tubig sa gripo habang nagsi-sipilyo, umaandar ang bentilador o nakabukas ang ilaw, telebisyon nang walang gumagamit.  Mas gusto ko ang magkaroon ng matibay na pangmatagalang baso kaysa gumamit ng disposable na baso araw-araw o mayat-maya.  Ayaw ko ng maluho sa pagkain na laging may kaparahehas ang bawat putahe.  May mga pangyayari na ayaw kong lagyan ng basura ang aking basurahan sa opisina dahil nanghihinayang ako sa supot/plastic kahit hindi naman iyun sa akin.  Kung minsan nga, ayaw ko ng gamitin ang isang bagay para hindi masira agad.

At ikalawa tungkol sa mga bagay na may kasangkot na ibang tao.  Sa pagpapahiram ng mga bagay na mayroon ako, nagpapahiram ako pero aaminin ko na may mga pagkakataon na alinlangan akong magpahiram dahil iniisip ko na baka masira, o baka hindi naman niya talaga kailangan, at may pagkakataon na ayaw ko ipahiram ang bagay dahil mahalaga o may kahulugan sa akin.  May mga kaso na gusto kong magbigay pero ang problema ay hindi ko pag-aari ang hinihingi tulad halimbawa ng tubig, papel, etc.  Sa loob-loob ko nga ay kung akin lang ang mga ito ay bibigyan ko sila lahat kaso baka masita ako.

Ang mga ito ay mga materyal na bagay.  Iba pa pagdating sa pera.  Sa madalas na pagkakataon ay hindi ako agad-agad pumapayag.  Napag-iisip muna ako kung magbibigay ba ako o hindi.  Hindi dahil pinag-iisipan ko ng masama ang taong nanghihiram sa akin tulad ng baka niloloko lang ako, o baka walang maipambayad.

Ang totoo nga nito ay kaya kong magpahiram ng pera man o bagay na kapag iniabot ko na ay hindi ko na inaasahan na maibabalik pa.  At may mga hindi ko na siningil o kinuha pa.  Pero kaya ako natitigilan na magpahiram ay una, paano kung biglang mangailangan ako nang hindi pa niya naibabalik ang kanyang hinihiram?  Gusto kong tumulong pero maliit ang aking kakayahan at pinagkukuhanan.  Pero ibang kwento naman kapag ang humihingi o humihiram sa akin ay ang mga taong masyadong malapit sa akin tulad ng mga kapatid, pamangkin at matalik na kaibigan dhil hindi ko sila kayang hindian.

Kung tutuusin, kapag sa mga bagay na alam kong marami akong maibibigay tulad ng likas na kaalaman ko sa pagsusulat ay napakadali akong lapitan para tumulong.  Kasi alam ko naman sa sarili ko na marami ako nito.  Siguro kung ang pera ko lamang ay sobra-sobra talaga na kahit magbigay ako ay wala akong aalalahanin sa kinabukasan ko ay wala akong pagaalinlangan na magbigay.

Sa kabila ng mga ito ay kahit papaano ay pinipilit kong tumugon sa mga kawang-gawa at ang totoo nito, para ako makapag-bigay ay pinagtratrabahuhan ko ang halagang iniaabot ko nang bukal sa loob.  Kapag nakakakita ako ng mga ordinaryong tao na totoong kusang-loob na tumutulong sa mga mahihirap ay hinahangaan ko dahil naiisip ko na sila ay kayang-kaya nilang tumulong nang hindi na iniisip kung magkano ang matitira o ano ang mangyayari sa kanila.  Sana maging katulad nila ako na totoong hindi makasarili, taos-puso ang kababaang-loob, kabaitan at katotohanan sa kanilang adbokasiya.

MUKBANG, JOLLIBEE FOODS

This mukbang is made to show my appreciation to my favorite Philippine's fastfood: Jollibee.

While I am eating their famous menu, I shared my true-to-lif Jollibee stories through a question and answer.

1.  Why do you like Jollibee?

I like Jollibee because it’s very Filipino, very friendly, very simple – pang masa ba.  I also eat to its rivals, but, it is really different feeling if it is Jollibee.

2.  What is your most favorite Jollibee?

Definitely, spaghetti is my all-time favorite jolibee.  The thick and the signature sweet sauce style, with ham, sausage, and ground beef topped with cheddar cheese.  Actually on my taste, nagbago na siya compare before.  I would say mas gusto ko dati, do you agree ba?  But still I love it now.  And yeah…. I love it.

3.  What is your first experience with Jollibee?

You know, I was just able to go to Jollibee when I was already working. During collage, my allowance was limited only. Then when I first went to Jollibee…, I was a bit tense saying my order, kasi I don’t know how to order eh or how to say the name of the foods.

4.  Do you have unique Jollibee experience?

Yes, when I was interviewed.  When I was working in Ortigas Center, every salary, I always treat myself to Jollibee (Manuella Branch).  The Branch Manager asked me why I prefer Jollibee. I am not a talkie person so I’m pretty sure my answers are not good. I said I like their spag.

5.  What is your fondest memory with Jollibee?

Everytime I order take out for my mother who canot go out to experience the tastes of Jollibee? . . . . . . . .  that is a fond memory.

6.  When was your last memorable Jollibee eat?

2018 when we had our breakfast before we go for visita iglesia.   I like it because… I was with my family!   It is unusual to happen kasi we have different priorities.

7.  What is your best Jollibee experience?

I dined-in in a branch (Shaw Boulevard branch) when I saw this family of three.  The child was enjoying his meal and the parents were sharing their foods.  Looking at the parents happy for their kid, I was just touched. Kasi they will give everything for children kahit nothing left for them.  And it gave me realization that the most important thing in this world is family. 

8.  How is your Jollibee now?

I am in based in the Middle East.  Maybe I can sum it up like this. Anna baadni, fi itsal, maa Jollibee (I'm still in contact with Jollibee).  Laana baadni aakl, akli al mufadhal (Because I can still eat my favorite foods).

MUKBANG - KABSA, AN ARABIC DISH

This mukbang was made to record an important part of my life as an oversea worker in Middle East.

Kabsa is a traditional food in the middle east. In one order, you will have the rice cooked in chicken,  herbs and spices, with chicken either grilled or barbique, fresh tomato sauce and aragula leaves.  In some, they add french fries.

The traditional way of eating Kabsa is using the bare hands and usually on the floor.

It is oily.  Not ideal for everyday. And lastly just eat right.

August 21 1983

Back in that date, I didn’t know who Ninoy Aquino was.  I was not yet fully aware of what was happening then.  I remember, it was around 2:00 PM when all of the sudden I felt there was something different.  It was my elder sister who brought me the news, from word of mouth I guess because our youth then was merely not involved in general issues.  Besides, I cannot remember if it was reported on the radio.  “Who is Ninoy by the way?” I asked.  She said “Ninoy is the staunch opponent of Ferdinand Marcos”.  I cannot clearly remember how he said it but my father warned us not to talk about it.  And being said that, it only mean that censorship during that time was high, and this was what I always grieved: being deprived of knowledge around us.

 

I just felt something was strange.   Was it just a gloomy sunny Sunday (I googled it was Sunday)?  No, I really believed there was something happening.  Why it seemed there was fear, and the silence was simply unusual.  It was not normal.  People are mum about it as in people seemed to hide something.  But I did not pursue to find it because my teen life was basically home-school routine. 

 

In August 21 1983, I was a struggling student hoping to finish study.  I was quiet and slowly trying to find out what was going on around me.  I heard some urban stories about the government but I really didn’t know Ninoy or any Aquino let’s say.  I did not know what was he fighting for, what were his deeds, belief, and who was he?  I had a social concerns and questions inside myself but I did not voice out them because my youth was happened in the typical era where our voice was not loud then.  

 

Coming from a family that the political party is under Marcos’ KBL, I took a different path and dared to make my own belief.  First and foremost, I can be called out by my father but he did not interfere into my political belief.  He never influenced me to follow the same path but instead he told me be wise and careful.

 

During my early social life, I had doubts then but I was not fully equipped with knowledge to hold my truth maybe because we had limited resources to know these things.  Until my consciousness was awaken during the 1986 Peoples Power revolution where all my unspoken thoughts about my government were suddenly not secret anymore.  And most of those thoughts of mine have been confirmed by history.

 

But what really happened in August 21 1983?  What are the back stories of all this?  What are the true stories of each witness’s narrative?  Sadly, people did not really have the opportunity to get the truth because it was happened during Marcos era but should this happen in our times today where there is no censorship, it will expose what to expose.

 

August 21 1983 destined to become history and paved way to give birth to a hero.  Ninoy’s martyrdom and principles affected the lives of the Filipino people.  The unprecedented funeral that lasted more than 10 hours and marched by more than a million people is testament to his worth.  He was not buried in the Libingan ng Mga Bayani but was declared hero not in term of his President wife but by another political party’s President – that makes it worth.  Now at 2020, I always look Ninoy as the man who instilled that freedom is important.  I may not appreciate him in 1983 but I am truly grateful for the fight he has shown against the authoritarian regime.  He is the symbol of opposition that will fight against all odds. 

ANG PAGHAWAK SA PERA

Lahat tayo, gusto natin ay makaipon ng malaking pera.  Kailangan natin ang mag-ipon dahil dito tayo mabubuhay pero ang hirap mag-ipon.  Minsan ay iniisip ko, masuwerte iyung mga may malalaking kinikita dahil malaki ang pagkakataon nila na maka-ipon sila ng mas mabilis at mas malaki.  Pero iniisip ko na lang, siguro kung hanggang ganito lang ang kaya kong ipunin, siguro ay hanggang duon lang ang magiging pangangailangan ko.

 

Totoong mahirap ang mag-ipon kapag ikaw ang bumubuhay sa iyong pamilya.  Lalong mas mahirap ang mag-ipon kung ang kinikita mo ay hindi naman kalakihan at kung minsan ay kinakapos kaya hindi maiiwasan ang manghiram ng pera.  Pinagdaanan ko ito.  Pero para makawala ako sa ganitong kumunoy, inalam ko kung ano ang mali sa pananalapi ko, pinag-aralan ko ang prayoridad ko, at lumagay lang ako sa kung ano ang kaya ko.

 

Para makaipon, kailangan nating matuto ng pagba-badyet ng pera.  Kailangan nating matuto kung paano hahawakan ang ating pera nang tama.  Hindi ako isang pinansiyal-guru, eksperto sa pananapi, o milyonaryo pero mayroon akong mga paraan na maibabahagi na maaaring makatulong para sa mga nakikipambuno sa bayarin at pag-iipon:

 

1.  Prayoridad.  Unahin mong linisin muna ang iyong mga pananagutan.  Bayaran hanggang mawala ang utang at huwag nang uulit na umutang.  Kapag may utang kasi ay kawalan na kaagad dahil hindi ka pa sumasahod ay bawas na ito.  May mga utang na hindi kawalan tulad ng pagpapaaral, pagpapagamot o bayad sa bahay dahil pangangailangan ang mga ito, pero kung uutang ka dahil lang sa pambili ng gadgets o sapatos o pagkain sa mamahaling restaurant, hindi ito tamang desisyon.

 

Personal: nang mabigyan ako ng pagkakataon na makapagtrabaho sa ibang bansa, inuna kong bayaran ang aking malaking pagkakautang.  Hindi ako bumili ng mga gamit tulad ng cellfone, mamahaling sapatos, alahas, at iba pa.  Alam ko kung magkano ang kinikita ko kaya alam kong hindi ko makakayang bumili ng mga gamit.  Nang mabayaran ko ang utang ko, masarap sa pakiramdam na iyung lahat ng sasahurin mo ay sa iyo na nang buong-buo.

           

2.  Disiplina.  Matapos mong mabayaran ang iyong utang, magkaroon ka ng maaayos na daloy ng pera.  Magkaroon ka ng disiplina sa paggastos kung hanggang saan o kailan ka gagastos.  Gawin mong pormula ang “Kita – Ipon = Gastos”.  Kada suweldo, maglaan ka ng permanenteng halaga na agad mong kaltasin sa iyong sahod at itago mo ito.  Kung magkano ang matitira ay duon mo kuhanin ang gastos para sa pagkain, pagpapa-aral, bayarin sa bahay.  Maaaring sa una ay maliit na halaga lang muna ang kaya mong itago pero makikita mo, kung ito ay tuloy-tuloy, malalaman mo na lang na malaki na pala ito paglipas ng anim (o higit pa) na buwan ay baka dagdagan mo na ang iyong buwanang ipon dahil magiging inspirado ka.

 

Personal: pinilit kong makapagtago ng pera nuon upang gawing pondo para sa biglaang gamutan para sa nanay ko.  Nakatulong ito ng malaki sa akin nang biglang kailanganin ko na ito.  Naubos man yun sa halos dalawang buwan lang ay hindi naman ako humantong sa pangungutang.

 

3.  Good debts VS bad debts.  Mahirap ang maging perpekto na walang utang.  Pero kung ikaw ay uutang, alamin mo kung ito ay iyung tinatawag na good debt o bad debt.  Kung ang uutangin mo ay magbibigay sa iyo ng pera, sigihan mo.   Kung ang uutangin mo ay para magkaroon ng ari-arian na hindi bumababa ang halaga – sigihan mo. 

 

Personal: isang dating kasamahan ko sa trabaho ang nagpayo sa akin nuon na huwag akong kumuha ng bahay at sa halip ay ipagpatayo ko na lang ng bahay sa nakabinbin na lupa ang pera na uutangin ko.  Ang nangibabaw sa akin nuon ay ang seguridad.  Kumuha ako ng bahay upang kung sakali lang na hindi ko ito mabayaran ay hindi mas masakit kesa sa ma-ilit ng bangko iyung lupa na patatayuan ko ng bahay.  Isiniguro ko lang na meron pa rin akong ari-arian kung sakaling hindi ko mabayaran ang bahay na kinuha ko. 

           

4.  Pangangailangan VS Kagustuhan.  Kung hindi ka naman yayamanin na may mga negosyo, ari-arian at milyones sa bangko, alamin mo kung ang bibilhin/gagastusan mo ay kailangan mo talaga o gusto mo lang.  Kailangan mo ng bagong cellfone dahil iyung luma mo ay hindi mo magamit sa trabaho mo o gusto mo kasi ang mga itinatampok ng cellfones.  Kailangan ba talagang maglibre sa pagkain o gusto mo lang isipin ng mga tao na mapagbigay ka?  Siguro sa mga ganitong pagkakataon na may sobra kang pera, sa halip na gastusin ay itago mo na lang.  Kung yayamanin ka naman talaga, maglaan ka lang ng halaga para duon sa mga gusto mo lang na hindi pangangailangan upang hindi maabuso ang iyong ipon.

 

5.  Praktikal. Maging matalino sa pag-gasta.  Lagi mong isipin, praktikal ba na bilin mo ang isang bagay?  Iyung presyo nito ay karapat-dapat ba?  Aanhin mo ang isang mamahaling sabon kung ang katumbas nito ay tatlong mumurahing sabon na maggamit mo sa mas matagal na panahon?  Ang mamahalin at mumurahing relo ay pareho lang ang ibinibigy na oras.  Oo, minsan ay mas matibay ang mas mahal at mas magagamit ng mas matagal pero hindi ito sa lahat ng oras kaya maging mapagkilatis.  Maging praktikal.  Maliliit lang ang mga natitipid mo pero kapag pinagsama-sama ito ay malaking halaga na pala.

 

Personal: nuong panahong hindi ako bumibili ng mga uso at mamahaling gamit dahil ang prayoridad ko ay makabayad ng utang, naging sistema na ng katawan ko ang hindi maghanap ng mga materyal na bagay.

 

6.  Lumagay ka lang sa kakayahan mo.   Alam mo kung magkano ang kinikita mo kaya huwag kang lumampas sa kakayahan mo.  Huwag mong isakripisyo ang ibang mahalagang bagay dahil sa iyong paggasta.   Oo, kailangan mong pasayahin din ang sarili mo at pagbigyan mo sa mga kasayahan pero alamin mo ang dalas ng minsan dahil kapag marami ay luho at materyalismo na ito.

 

Personal: ang pamanatayan ko, kung hindi ko siya kayang bilhin sa perang hawak ko, hindi ko siya uutangin.  Dahil kung hindi sapat ang pera ko, ang ibig sabihin nito ay hindi para sa akin ang bagay na gusto kong bilhin.

 

Anuman ang dahilan ng mga taong hindi sinisiryoso ang paghawak sa kanilang pananalapi, mahalaga pa rin ang mag-ipon para sa panahon ng pangangailangan.  Maglaan lang ng para sa kasiyahan at huwag hihigit sa inilaan.  Hindi ako galante.  Hindi ko ugali ang mgpamudmod ng mga pasalubong, siguro ay magbibigay na lang ako kapag kailangan talaga.  Laging umiiral sa akin ang pagiging praktikal.  Hindi masama ang maging kuripot dahil pera mo ito.  Ang masama ay winawaldas mo ang iyong pera at kapag nangailangan ka ay wala kang magagamit.  Hindi mo tinitipid o tinatanggalan ang sarili mo ng kasiyahan kaya ayaw mong gumasta kundi isinisiguro mo lang ang kasihayan mo pagdating ng araw.
