NON POLITICAL IN COMBATING COVID-19

I may a critic to this administration for most of the times I do not agree on their actions and statements but in these tough times, we must show obedience to our President.   He is the President of the country so we must (at least these days) listen to follow him towards one direction.  Our unity will bring us in the best result.  I know how he addresses the situation is not acceptable to me, but we can fix it later.  For the meantime, our cooperation is badly needed today more than ever before.

It is difficult to make decision in this tough time but I chose to set aside my bias and focus on curing the virus.   Prevention is always better than cure.  Since COVID-19 outbreak, my opinion was to impose immediate travel ban from and to China and other flights with stopover in China.  But since COVID had already entered the Philippine, we need to cure it and prevent the spread so I think lockdown is necessary.  I know many of us do not trust our government can handle the lockdown. The question is, how far can we bear lockdown?  How long the government can sustain handling the lockdown?

Although the government’s community quarantine in Metro Manila, where some can still go to and from Metro Manila doesn’t look sound to me.  It is similar to provisional travel ban which I find impotent.  The exodus of many people from Metro Manila who went home to their provinces because of the community quarantine is alarming.  What if one of them might be carrier of virus, then he will now spread the virus to his province.  That is another situation to handle.

But if in the worse scenario where there will be need to impose lockdown, the civilians must follow it religiously.  When the government said lockdown, we must listen and cooperate.  We need to stay at home.  It is not holiday.  It is not time to party by going to friends.  Everybody must stay in the home.  We have to sacrifice, otherwise the efforts and times will just put into waste.  We will just waste the important 14 days period and maybe we cannot afford to lockdown for another 14 days if it did not work, so please we must be cooperative.

I understand, other people like me have the same critics in this government but my point now is, in this time of emergency, in this kind of tough time, I don’t like to become deterrent or barrier to address the solution as soon as possible.  For the meantime, let us show the spirit of cooperation instead of accusation and objection.  There is a day of persecution; they will have their day of reckoning too.

There is time for everything.  For the sake of combating the COVID, let us give our support to the President for now.   We need to help each other to save human race.  If the President gives his thanks to China and Bong Go, let’s give it to him.  He did not say we say thank you to China, it is his personal take so let’s leave it that way – there is a day of persecution and they will have their day of reckoning.

It is difficult to ignore the continued arrivals of Chinese if we want a genuine lockdown or community quarantine.  For continued arrival of Chinese - there is a day of persecution and they will have their time of reckoning.  For now full cooperation is a must.  If you don’t have business or identification to come to Metro Manila - back out.  This is the time not for you alone but for everybody.

Yes, DU30 is to blame for this.  He cut the budget of DOH, in effect we are unprepared.  His late travel ban was too late the hero, and it caused us to where we are now.  But addressing our situation now is more important than fingerpointing and blaming.  There is a day of persecution to that but for now, we should combat hand in hand this COVID-19.
