THE NEW NORMAL

We’re in time now where we need to make changes and adjust in some deep-rooted moves that we’ve grown up with.  This pandemic brought by COVID-19 surprised us and we are not used to these changes but we need to adapt them.  Here are my personal common new normal that I want to share to give thoughts to ponder.

1.1.  Try to stay at home at least for now while your community is under quarantine.  It is difficult but we must do it.  Viruses are just around outside of our home, let us not have them stick to our clothes and bring them inside our home.

2.  Observe hygiene.  Always wash your hands.  Our hands are the first possible way to get the virus inside our body.  Therefore it is a must to wash hands before you eat.

3.  Strive to learn not to touch your face to avoid direct contact to your nose and mouth.  You can keep a small stick in your pocket and use it to scratch the irritation on your face.

4.  Observe cleanliness.  Make homemade disinfectant good for one day.  You can go to internet to check how to make disinfectant.  Spray or wipe your home’s most frequently touch surfaces like doorknob, tables, chairs, faucets, light switches, remote controls, etc.

5.  Learn to do business transactions without the need of going out or thru paying cash like paying your bills for electricity, water, telephone, amortizations, transferring money, online shopping, internet banking, etc. There are e-wallet, debit card, credit card, and ATM to use in doing these.

6.  Avoid going to house of your relatives and friends or to your nearest neighbor to have hello and short talks.

7.  If it is really needed to go out to do essential things like buying foods or need to work, always wear face mask to avoid catching up or breathing virus.

8.  Strictly observe social distancing.

9.  While outside, do not touch any object that you may see to keep your hands uninfected.  Have sanitizers so that you can clean your hands when inevitable situations happened like using the automated teller machine.

10.  While at work, avoid leaving your workstation to go from one team to another.

11.  Always clean yourself when you get home.

The government is drafting the “new normal” protocols in transportation systems in ships, planes, trains, buses and tricycles.  Same things go in government services, schools and business either private or public.  It is huge challenge to implement them the moment the flock of people returned to streets, markets and bus terminals.  This will be our new world.  Although we have doubt if it can be complied and it looks like a dream but we need to endure, adhere and adjust to the changes for the sake of our safety in general.  We need to adapt to fit in.
